What areas does Color Collective Coatings serve?+

We serve Greater Providence, Rhode Island, and Southern New England, as well as the New York Metro area. If you're near the edge of these regions, reach out — we're happy to discuss travel for the right project.

What is cabinet refinishing, and how is it different from repainting?+

Cabinet refinishing uses professional-grade, spray-applied coating systems — including catalyzed 1K and 2K products — to produce a factory-smooth, durable finish. This is different from brush-and-roller repainting with hardware store paint, which typically shows brush texture and wears, chips, or yellows within a year.

How much does kitchen cabinet refinishing cost?+

Pricing depends on kitchen size. Small kitchens with up to 20 doors run $2,500–$3,500. Medium kitchens with 20–35 doors run $3,500–$5,000. Large or custom kitchens with 35+ doors start at $5,000 and can exceed $7,500 depending on scope. Every tier includes the full seven-step process — there's no stripped-down version.

Do you offer wall and ceiling painting in addition to cabinets?+

Yes. Wall and ceiling painting is available as an add-on using Benjamin Moore Aura or Sherwin-Williams Emerald, typically ranging from $250–$1,100. It's a natural complement to a cabinet refinish if you'd like to transform the whole room in one engagement.

How long does a typical project take?+

Most kitchens are completed within a focused, multi-day timeline depending on door count and the coating system used. You'll get an exact schedule at the time of your estimate.

What coating systems and materials do you use?+

We use professional catalyzed 1K and 2K systems, including Envirolak Envirothane 200 Series, Envirolak Envirocryl 400 Series, and Milesi 2K Polyurethane — the same materials trusted by custom cabinet manufacturers.

Do I need to move out of my kitchen during the project?+

No. Doors and drawer fronts are removed, labeled, and finished in a controlled spray environment, while boxes are finished in place with dust extraction and containment to minimize disruption to the rest of your home.
